I was graciously allowed a test account on the Day CMS and have very briefly tried it all out. I wanted to start this discussion to find out what others are doing (or plan to do) in reference to external applications integrating with the CMS. As I understand it, there are various methods to create a "mash-up" of sorts of your own external applications and the CMS content. I have a few things planned for my test account to see if it is possible, but before reinventing the wheel, wanted to see if others have already started integrating.

If you have any experience integrating with Day from outside the CMS, could you please let us all know what and how your app is implemented?

or, If you have any ideas on what you'd like to see implemented, let us know that here. I'd be happy to try integrating with your ideas to see if it's possible. If so, I'll post how it is implemented here. If others would like to offer to test as well, please let us know.

I'm very optimistic about the CMS. I think a unified presence is a long time coming and I think the WebComm department has done a fantastic job developing OU's version of Day. I also appreciate the fact that they're willing to allow (even help develop) more flexibility within the CMS. With that in mind, let's take advantage of this fact and help each other develop any needed external apps so we can utilize the CMS to its full potential.
